UMA TURAN

Uma began by studying etching and sculpture in London, but, due to her love of fabric and jewellery, moved on to study theatrical millinery with Jane Smith. She completed her formal education in millinery at the Kensington and Chelsea College with Kirsten Scott, former milliner for Karl Lagerfeld at Chanel.

Uma then went on to work for celebrity milliner Stephen Jones whose work is represented in the permanent collections of the Victoria & Albert Museum and the Louvre, and who has collaborated with Vivienne Westwood, Jean-Paul Gaultier and John Galliano for Dior.

In 2013, Uma started exploring ceramics due to her love for clay. Since then, from her studio in London, Uma is dedicated to creating bespoke pieces of ceramics, working with clients to ensure each piece is as unique as it is astonishing.
